Four Specialized Programs
Our four specialized programs are designed to meet the specific needs of children at different developmental levels - Toddler - for children ages 15 months to 3 years, Early Childhood for children 3-6 years, Lower Elementary children 6-9 years old, and Upper Elementary for children ages 9-12 years. The Toddler and Early Childhood classes are half day (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM), while the Elementary classes are full day (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM). We also offer a less structured extended day program from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM for children 15 months to 6 years old.Multi-Age Classrooms
Multi-age groupings in the classrooms are an integral part of the Montessori Method. Since teachers are trained to teach at least a three year age span, they are able to individualize the education that each student receives. The younger students tend to challenge themselves to follow the work of the older students, and the older students benefit greatly by helping the younger students as mentors.Freedom of Choice
With a specially trained Montessori teacher, or guide, in each classroom, children are exposed to a very rich curriculum. After initial presentations of materials, children have a large portion of their class time that is devoted to independent choice of work. From the carefully prepared environment, children determine what they would like to work on independently from activities that they find on the shelves. Teachers observe the children's work and assist them as needed, without becoming a hindrance to the work that the child is accomplishing independently. Allowing this freedom of choice in the classroom does more to inspire curiosity and independent motivation than anything a teacher could personally impose.Creativity and Specialization
Children in a Montessori classroom are exposed to diverse hands-on materials as well as a more creative approach to learning. Art projects, science experiments, cooking, gardening, and care of animals are all major aspects of our classrooms. By making the lessons and projects more creative and hands-on, children are insatiably curious and self-motivated toward excellence. In addition to the special projects done in each class every day, we also offer three specialists who each work with the elementary students once a week in the areas of Spanish, Art, and Dance/Drama. |

Evergreen Montessori Academy provides a quality choice in private education for children ages 1-12 years. We offer a specialized educational approach, known as the Montessori Method, that provides an experiential, hands-on education with low teacher-to-student ratios. Our specially trained teachers emphasize independent learning using a carefully prepared classroom environment to stimulate curiosity and inspire in the children a life-long passion for learning.
Evergreen Montessori Academy has high expectations of our staff. All lead teachers possess at least a bachelor's degree and have completed, or will complete their Montessori Certification within one year. We select teachers based on their ability to observe the children, connect with them intuitively, and tailor each lesson to the unique students in their classrooms. Our teachers are always looking for new ways to make their classroom and curriculum more inviting and interesting to the children. We are creative so that the children enjoy the work and the teachers remain challenged and engaged as well. Even though many of our lessons are repeated year after year, there are always new ways of approaching the same lessons.
